NASSER

My name is Nancy Nasser and I am a mom, wife, and technology enthusiast!

I have always been passionate about technology but have traveled an interesting road to discover how technology can transform education and learning.

I grew up in Beirut, Lebanon. During senior year of high school, I landed a full paid scholarship by the U.S. Department of state to complete my undergraduate studies at Christopher Newport University in Virginia.  I was determined to accept this challenge, take all the risks and prove to myself that “if you have the will, you will”. In 2007, I left my family, friends and my comfort zone that I had enjoyed for 17 years of my life to travel from Lebanon to the United States.

In 2012, I graduated with my Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from Christopher Newport University . I then began my career as a solution architect for a technology services company which was a perfect fit enabling me to assess and design technology solutions for some of the most well-known enterprises.  Today I serve as an educational technology specialist for the American International School of Jeddah. You may be wondering what made me switch to education after being in the corporate and enterprise realm of technology. The answer is that life after marriage had brought me to Saudi Arabia. Struggling to find a suitable job in the technology solution services field after moving to Saudi Arabia led me to explore other sectors such as education. In 2014, I received an opportunity to work as an Educational Technology specialist at the American International School of Jeddah to help enrich classroom environments with the latest technologies and coach and support teachers on transforming the modern classroom into innovative, 21st-century space. Since then, I have developed a heartfelt love for my new profession in educational technology.

Currently, I am student at Michigan State University and plan to graduate with a Master in Arts of Educational Technology in December of 2018.

When I am not working on my master’s assignments, studying for a technology certificate, or leading a technology workshop for teachers, you can find me boarding an airplane to explore a new destination, baking healthy desserts, or spending quality time with my husband and son. Below is a snippet of my life outside of work.
