Although I had some experience with MinecraftEdu before, I have not personally created an assessment as a teacher within the game. As a technology coach, I have helped other teachers incorporate it and use Minecraft worlds with classroom learning activities and learning objectives. This week  I was challenged to create an assessment that I could use with my students inside of Minecraft. This creation was in some ways challenging, but definitely rewarding.

Since I teach digital citizenship for elementary students of grades 1 to 5, I wanted to create an assessment that reflects concepts learned in one of these lessons titled “Protecting My Digital Footprint”. In this lesson, students learn how to manage their digital reputation and how to respond to people they don’t know online. As an assessment of this lesson, grade 5 students will use this Minecraft interactive game to demonstrate knowledge in protecting their digital reputation.
